1. Organizer. The contest is run by Services comptables Account Direct inc. ("Account Direct"), accountdirect.net, [email protected].
2. Period. The contest covers the quizzes published on the Account Direct Facebook Page (facebook.com/accountdirect) from November 2, 2026. Account Direct will announce the closing date and the draw date on its Facebook Page and in these rules at least 14 days in advance. Entries are accepted until 11:59 pm Eastern Time on the announced closing date.
3. Eligibility. Open to residents of Canada and the United States who have reached the age of majority where they live and who run a business or are self-employed in Canada or the United States. Void where prohibited. Employees, officers and representatives of Account Direct, and the people who live with them, cannot enter.
4. How to enter. No purchase necessary. Post the right answer as a comment on a quiz covered by section 2, on the Account Direct Facebook Page. One right answer is one entry. One entry per person per quiz: if you comment more than once on the same quiz, only your first comment counts. You do not need to share, tag anyone, like or follow the Page.
5. Prize. One prize: a credit worth up to CAD $1,000 on Account Direct's bookkeeping service, for one of the winner's businesses, for twelve months. The service is the one described under "Bookkeeping" on the Pricing page at accountdirect.net. If the bookkeeping for those twelve months costs $1,000 or less at the usual rates, it is entirely free. If it costs more, Account Direct takes $1,000 off its invoices and the winner pays the difference at the usual rates. The prize does not include the income tax returns and year-end slips add-on, or earlier years. The winner chooses when their twelve months begin, no later than 12 months after the winner is confirmed. The credit cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, and any part not used within the twelve months is lost. Account Direct's usual terms of use apply to the service.
6. Draw. On the date announced under section 2, at Account Direct, one entrant will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries.
7. Confirming the winner. Account Direct will notify the person chosen by replying to their comment and on Messenger. They have 7 days to answer. Before being declared the winner, they must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and confirm that they are eligible. If not, another entrant is chosen at random the same way. The winner's first name and last initial may be published on the Page, with their consent.
8. Facebook. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook). Each entrant releases Meta from any liability related to the contest.
9. Personal information. Account Direct collects only what the contest needs: each entrant's Facebook display name and comment, and, for the person chosen, their name, contact details and business name. It is used only to run the contest, reach the person chosen and deliver the prize. It is not sold or used for advertising. Comments are public on Facebook, which hosts them and may process them outside Quebec. You can ask for access to your information, its correction, or withdraw your consent by writing to the person in charge of the protection of personal information, the President of the firm, at [email protected]. Withdrawing consent before the draw cancels your entry. See also our Privacy Policy.
10. General. Account Direct may remove an entry that does not follow these rules. Eligibility is decided under these rules. These rules are governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada. If the versions differ, the French version prevails.
